Consulting Opportunity – Oil & Gas Sector  (Mexico City, Mexico)

IPD Latin America is growing its energy consulting team in Mexico.  The company is seeking dynamic nationals to help expand the firm's reputation for high quality, on-the-ground, independent and objective advisory services.

IPD Latin America, a boutique consulting firm, has been in operation for over ten years.  It provides business development, government relations, regulatory and strategic advisory services to the oil, natural gas and power sectors in Colombia, Mexico and Venezuela.  IPD works with major energy sector operating companies, foreign governments, financial institutions, and others through an array of consulting products.  These products include, among others, its EnergyNet advisory service, client workshops, specialized studies, economic and financial modeling, and government and sector power mapping.

Candidates interested in the position must be self-starters yet team players, resourceful, hard working and entrepreneurial.  Strong communication and analytical skills are essential.  Candidates must be fully bilingual (Spanish and English).  The ability to write clearly in English is critical, as written communication is a major component of the services IPD provides, and the company’s reports are read by a wide array of clients from around the globe.  The capacity to market and network are needed, as the position will require regular meetings with both government officials and private sector participants.  A technological orientation is a plus.

IPD is seeking individuals capable of thinking on their feet, critically analyzing situations, and finding rational solutions.  Ideal candidates will have between seven and ten years of public or private energy sector experience with a focus on energy sector analysis, planning, technical operational activities or business development.  A technical degree and an MBA are preferred.

Additional Job Requirements

·         Strong ability to create insightful and provocative analysis that is visually attractive in both report and presentation format.

·         While this position stresses a strong understanding of the energy sector, the capacity to analyze and contextualize the energy sector as a component of the country’s overall economic and political matrix is imperative.

·         An ability to build and manipulate detailed Excel models is preferred.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for the energy sector and confidence in his/her ability to both develop and expand relationships with government officials and private professionals.  Given the levels at which IPD interfaces with the sector, its consultants may find themselves in a position to influence public policy and participate in the strategic development of its clients’ business.  To this end, we are searching for individuals who keenly understand the importance of confidentiality, discretion, objectivity and responsibility.

Domestic and some international travel may be required.  Competitive compensation is solidly incentive based and paid in U.S. dollars.

If your skill set matches these requirements and the challenges of this opportunity are intriguing to you, we encourage you to submit a resume and a writing sample in English to info@infrastrategy.com.
