Gonzalo Monroy joined IPD in July 2002 and is based in Mexico City. Gonzalo is
responsible for research and analytical efforts undertaken both with respect to
the Mexican EnergyNet and other consulting assignments carried out by IPD’s
Mexico team.
Gonzalo possesses a strong background in econometrics, statistical analysis and
economic modeling. His recent research includes an analysis of Mexico’s
hydrocarbon import-export balance, electricity power tariff forecasts, PEMEX
taxation and Mexico’s use of PIDIREGAS.
Gonzalo has recently completed coursework and is on his way to obtaining a
degree in Economics from ITAM (Instituto Tecnologico Autonomo de Mexico). His
thesis will encompass research on Mexico’s electricity pricing considerations in
a competitive industry. Gonzalo is fluent in both Spanish and English.
