Vania Laban is a consultant with IPD
Latin America and based in Mexico City. She joined the company in November 2004.
Vania is responsible for research and analytical efforts undertaken both with
respect to the Mexican EnergyNet and other consulting assignments carried out by
IPD’s Mexico team.
Prior to joining IPD, Vania worked at the
Secretary of Energy under the Luis Tellez administration as well as with the
Comision Reguladora de Energia (CRE). Her principal focus was to provide
analysis of the international oil markets and the electricity sector.
Vania obtained a degree in Economics from
ITAM (Instituto Tecnologico Autonomo de Mexico). Her thesis work centered on
analyzing certain key economic aspects of the Multiple Service Contracts (MSC)
that are now being undertaken in the Burgos Basin. Vania is fluent in both
Spanish and English.
