Search for Latin American-based Consultants

IPD Latin America is seeking to expand its energy consulting activities in the following Latin American countries:  Argentina, Brazil, Colombia and Peru.  The company is looking for dynamic nationals to help establish and grow IPD’s local presence in these markets, building on its reputation for high quality, on-the-ground, independent and objective advisory.

IPD Latin America, a boutique consulting firm in operation for nearly ten years, provides business development, government relations, legal and regulatory advisory to the oil, natural gas and power sectors in Mexico and Venezuela.  IPD works with major energy sector operating companies, foreign governments, financial institutions, and others through an array of consulting products including its EnergyNet service, on-site workshops, specialized studies, economic and financial modeling, power mapping, etc. In expanding into Latin America’s other major energy markets, IPD’s objective is to both introduce its existing range of products, as well as develop new ones tailored to local interests and needs.

In this regard, candidates for these positions must be entrepreneurial, self-starters yet team players, resourceful, hard working and have excellent communication skills. Ideal candidates will have public or private energy sector experience. However, individuals with any or a combination of the following areas of expertise will be considered:

  • Energy sector planning or business development experience within the private sector or government including a country’s energy ministry, planning ministry, state-owned energy company or energy regulator.
  • Economics and/or finance, particularly as related to energy, mining or infrastructure project development and bid processes.
  • Legal, with specific background in oil and gas regulatory matters and private sector experience.
  • Political, with a background in political and regulatory analysis focusing on the energy sector.
  • Government relations, both private and public sector experience a plus.

Candidates should have eight to fifteen years of work experience and must to be fully bilingual. Strong writing skills in English are essential as IPD’s consultants are responsible for generating frequent and detailed reporting to the company’s globally based clients. Meeting regularly with government officials, private sector and other key participants will be an essential part of the position.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for the energy sector and confidence in his/her ability to develop solid relationships with top energy officials and international executives within the private sector.  IPD’s  local industry networks IPD often places our consultants in a position to influence public policy and participate in the strategic development of our clients’ business.  To this end, we are searching for individuals who keenly understand the importance of confidentiality, discretion, objectivity and responsibility.

The positions to be filled will be based in Buenos Aires, Rio de Janeiro, Bogota and Lima. Domestic and some international travel may be required. Compensation is offered in US Dollars and is solidly incentive based.

If your skill set matches these requirements and the challenges of this opportunity are intriguing to you, we encourage you to submit your resume to info@infrastrategy.com.
