John Padilla
Areas of Focus
John has directed and managed IPD’s Mexico activities since 2001. In addition to the company’s EnergyNet service, John has led numerous consulting efforts and studies on subjects including regional natural gas supply-demand dynamics, PEMEX financial analysis, projection modeling of Mexico’s hydrocarbon sector, Mexico's PIDIREGAS program and natural gas storage. In addition to these efforts, John regularly leads strategic workshops, provides executive briefings and speaks at industry conferences. He is based in New York.
Previous Work Experience
Complimenting his consulting experience at IPD, John brings along ten years of structured finance and advisory experience in the areas of energy, utilities and infrastructure. His experience includes six years working with Dresdner Kleinwort Benson in the bank’s NY-based Energy, Utility and Infrastructure Group, where he structured, financed and provided advice on projects worth more than $15 billion in total costs. As a Global Relationship Manager for DKB, his responsibilities also included corporate, acquisition, capital market, equity and other leveraged financing activities for the sector’s client base. Prior to DKB, John held positions with the project finance group at Banque Paribas and the transportation group at Manufacturers Hanover.
