Ana María Cubides Consultant    Areas of Focus   Ana is based in Bogota, Colombia. Her work focuses primarily on advising and providing political analysis to clients operating in the Andean Region.   Previous Work Experience   Prior to joining IPD, Ana worked in both the Colombia and Mexico offices of Control Risks as an analyst and researcher in the Information and Analysis Unit. She was responsible for providing in-depth analysis of the political and security situation in the Andean Region. She has developed an expertise in Latin American politics, security, and economics over a period of nine years. She was also responsible for organizing Control Risks’ various business development events in Colombia and throughout the region.     Prior to Control Risks, Ana worked for the Confederation of Chambers of Commerce (CONFECAMARAS) in Bogota, as Advisor to the President on political and economic matters in Colombia.   Education   Ana holds a master’s degree in Latin American studies from the Javeriana University in Bogota, Colombia. She also holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from Los Andes University in Bogota. While at Los Andes University, Ana Maria worked for the Centre of Economic Development Studies (CEDE) as a Research Assistant.    Languages Spoken   Spanish, English
